It was raised in the SCM forums that some people were being logged out automatically before they could complete whatever they were doing.

This is because the server has a default timeout period of 20 minutes, so if you stay on any one page longer than that, you are logged out in the background before you click on the submit button, hence losing whatever it was you were working on.

This has now been resolved.

The timeout is still 20 minutes, but the system now takes into consideration mouse movement and keyboard presses. So now you are only logged out if you walk away from your computer and nothing is touched for 20 minutes.

If you are filling in a long form such as adding multiple swim times etc, you won't be logged out automatically.
